I Spend Most of My Revenues From My App on Self-Investment

3 Things I Bought This New Year

I Spend Most of My Revenues From My App on Self-Investment

Happy new year! It’s Takuya.

I am developing Inkdrop, a Markdown note-taking app, which is my main source of income now. I would use most of the revenues from it for improving my productivity and creativity. Because revenues are not merely money but also they indicate a number of claps from customers saying that “Well done. Keep up your good work!” So I spend them to do more.

I will never spend the revenues to make myself look nice to people, like having a great office or living in a gorgeous apartment. That’s a waste of money. That doesn’t even let my project grow. Amazon is spending their most revenues on investments. I think they are right. So, my policy on using revenues is:

  • To get more time to develop apps
  • To take care myself
  • To use better tools
  • To get better work environment
  • To get more knowledges and experiences
  • To outsource my work

And here is what I bought this new year holiday.

My comfy workspace

Three Stuffs I Bought This New Year

MacBook Pro 13-inch

I bought my current MacBook Pro 13 inch 3 years ago and it is kind of slow these days. I decided to buy new one today because Apple discounts it with gift cards for new year’s first sale called “Hatsu-uri” held only on Jan 2 in Japan.

Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones — WH-1000XM3

I always want a quiet environment to focus on something. I tried Sony’s WH-1000XM3 and found that it has a great functionality of noise canceling.

DJI Osmo Pocket

I love discovering comfy cafes as I published 5 my best comfy cafés in Tokyo 2018. I also recently started my YouTube channel. So it would be great to have an action camera to show you guys places I visited.

Can’t wait to create things with them! :)
